AMCIS 2020 Virtual Conference FAQ
What is a Virtual Conference?
A virtual conference is hosted entirely online. It will allow attendees to access live and recorded presentations via their computers, iPad, mobile phone, etc. Attendees participate through a conference delivery system designed specifically for the virtual conference. Some conference sessions will be synchronous (i.e., for 60-90 minutes in real-time just as at prior AMCIS conferences) and other sessions will be asynchronous so you can attend any time during the conference.
When is AMCIS 2020?
AMCIS – Virtual Conference will be held on Aug 10 – 14. The sessions will be based on (Mountain Time – same as Salt Lake City). The schedule will be posted as soon as details have been finalized. Please check back.
Who should attend?
AMCIS 2020 is open to all those in the field of information systems that are active AIS members.
What are the technical requirements needed to participate?
To participate, you need an Internet connection and web browser. For the best viewing experience, we recommend that you join the conference using a supported internet browser, which includes Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

What AMCIS 2020 events will be part of the virtual conference?
We are still finalizing the details for various AMCIS 2020 events. Stay tuned for more information. We will publish updates on this page as well as on the various event pages of the AMCIS 2020 website.
How do I register for AMCIS 2020?
Registration for 2020 AIS Virtual Conference Series – ECIS, PACIS and AMCIS has opened. Upon registering, you will have access to all three conferences. After you register, you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to connect to the conference.
You only need to register once for all three conferences and can modify your registration entry, as needed.
How much will it cost?
$50 USD: AIS Members – Faculty from Very High HDI countries
Fee Waived: AIS Members – All Doctoral Students and Faculty from High, Medium and Low HDI countries.

Will I have access to the recordings and materials?
Yes. All AIS members will have access to conference content via the conference delivery system and the AIS eLibrary
Can I create a viewing party?
Joining the virtual conference is more fun with friends. Consider bringing your colleagues together to view the conference in one place, pending local restrictions due to COVID-19.
Here are some tips for organizing an in-person viewing party:
Make sure everyone in the group is registered before the conference.
Book a meeting space that can accommodate the group (please follow health official guidelines before gathering).
Make sure the meeting room has a strong internet connection, a laptop, and basic sound system. Conduct sound and equipment checks prior to the virtual conference.
Consider organizing snacks and drinks depending on your time zone.
Tweet a photo of your group using the hashtag #AMCIS2020 – we will post your photos online.
Connect with others on the virtual platform: ask questions and share comments.
Will there still be proceedings for the conference?
Yes. All conference proceedings will be available in the eLibrary at https://aisel.aisnet.org/?AISeLibrary.
